This petition is filed by the sole accused under

Section 482 of BNSS praying to grant anticipatory ball in Crime No.119/2025 of Mangaluru North of Police Station registered for offence punishable under Sections 4 and 12 of Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2020.

Heard learned counsel for petitioner and

learned Additional SPP for respondent - State.

Learned counsel for petitioner would contend

that on raid in the shed of the petitioner the Police found 228 kg of cattle and cow meat which was stored in a fridge and it has been seized. Offence alleged against the

petitioner is punishable with imprisonment which may extend to 7 years. Petitioner is ready to cooperate with the Police in investigation. Petitioner who is earlier involved in criminal cases has been granted bail and two cases have been disposed of out of five cases. With this, he prayed to allow the petition.

Per contra learned Additional SPP would contend that on seeing the raiding team the petitioner ran away from the spot and from the shed 228 kg of cow meat stored in a refrigerator has been seized along with the refrigerator. Petitioner is having criminal antecedents and involved in 5 cases the details of which are mentioned in paragraph No. 4 of the order passed by the trial Court. If the petitioner is again granted anticipatory ball, there are chances of he committing similar offence. Petitioner is required for custodial interrogation. With this he prayed to reject the petition.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties,

the Court has perused the FIR, complaint and other materials placed on record.

On receipt of credible information PSI

¶39

Mangaluru North Police Station raided the shed of the petitioner and at that time petitioner ran away and raiding team found 228 kg of cow meat stored in a refrigerator. Said cow meat and refrigerator have been seized. Even the articles used to cut the meat etc., were also found on the spot. Petitioner is having criminal antecedents and is involved in the following cases:
