The petitioner is before this Court calling in question an order of the concerned Court which rejects the time sought by the petitioner to deposit 20% of the amount which was within the four corners of the statute.

Heard Sri Venkata Reddy C M, learned counsel appearing for petitioner and Sri S K venkata Reddy, learned counsel appearing for respondent.

The learned counsel for the petitioner undertakes that he would deposit before the concerned Court, the amount as obtaining under Section 148 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, within 60 days from today.

In that light, I deem it appropriate to permit the

petitioner to deposit the said amount within 60 days from today. In the event, petitioner would not deposit the amount within the next 60 days, the concerned Court is at liberty to pass necessary orders in accordance with law. As a matter of form, the impugned order dated 30-12-2025 passed by the VII Additional District and Sessions Judge, Tumakuru is set aside. Ordered accordingly.
