ORAL ORDER

This writ petition is filed under Articles 226 & 227 of

the Constitution of India, seeking the following reliefs:

“(i) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other writ or direction, directing the respondents to regularize the services of the petitioners vide Annexures A2, A12 and A13 in the interest of justice and equity.

(ii) Direct the respondents to pay the salary on par with the salary of the regular lecturers appointed in the University Colleges of the second respondent.

(iii) Direct the second respondent, third respondent and fourth respondent not to relieve the petitioners in the end of the academic year and continue the services and pay salary fixed for the leave period.

(iv) Grant consequential benefits and other benefits and facilities with weightage, continuous service and such other relief that this Hon’ble Court deems fit in the interest of justice and equity.”

appearing for the University submit that the petitioners have not submitted any representations, but directly approached this Court, seeking a mandamus. Hence, the prayer sought for in this writ petition is not maintainable.

At this stage, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, if this Court grants some time, the petitioners will submit representations and the respondents may be directed to consider the same, in accordance with law.

In view of the above, without expressing any

opinion on the merits of the case, the petitioners are permitted to submit representations within two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If such representations are made, the respondents are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law.
