This appeal has been filed by the claimant challenging the impugned judgment and award dated 28.02.2013 passed by the learned Senior Civil Judge and MACT, Channagiri (for short ‘the Tribunal’), in M.V.C.No.22/2012. The Tribunal has awarded a sum of Rs.10,000/- together with interest at 6% p.a. from the date of petition till realization, towards the injuries sustained by the claimant-appellant in a road traffic accident that occurred on 07.05.2010.

Though the matter is listed for orders, with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the matter is taken up for final disposal.

Having regard to the nature of the injuries suffered by the appellant-claimant, I am of the opinion that it would be appropriate to award an additional sum of Rs.50,000/- inclusive of interest by way of global compensation.

Hence, I pass the following order:-

(i) The appeal is allowed in part.

(ii) The impugned judgment and award dated

28.02.2013 passed by the Tribunal is modified by awarding an additional sum of Rs.50,000/- inclusive of interest.
