Shri Prashanth, learned Advocate for petitioner submitted that petitioner's mother's whereabouts are unknown since 2019. Police have not done a fair investigation. Hence, this writ petition.

Learned AGA, on instructions from Shri B.S.Manjunath, Inspector of Police, present in court submitted that police have recorded statements of one Shri Chikkegowda and his wife Smt.Anasuya and their neighbours namely, Ravikanth, Chandrakanth, Kamalamma and Prameelamma. Petitioner had pointed out in the complaint that he suspected brother and sister in law of missing person namely, Shri Chikkegowda and Smt.Anasuya. Shri Chikkegowda has passed away during September, 2020. Police are still investigating into the matter. 3. Learned AGA also submitted that CCTV Footage of 08.11.2019 from which date the victim is said to have been missing shows that she was walking alone. He assured the Court that police will continue investigation.

In the circumstance, this writ petition is disposed of directing police to continue with investigation and reserving liberty to the petitioner to move jurisdictional Magistrate for appropriate direction if any required and if he is so advised.
