05/13.09.2024 Heard Mr. Raj Nandan Chatterjee, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. Snehlika Bhagat, learned A.P.P. for the State.
The petitioner apprehends his arrest in connection with Jorapokhar P.S. Case No.32 of 2022.
The allegation reveals that the petitioner who was the cleaner and driver of the truck bearing Registration No. JH-10BN 2991 had stolen the truck and till now it has not been traced out.
Regard being had to the specific nature of allegation levelled against the petitioner, I am not inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The same is hereby rejected.
However, if the petitioner surrenders before the learned court below within a period of three weeks and prays for bail the learned court below shall endeavour to get the bail application disposed of expeditiously and preferably on the same day without being prejudiced by this order of rejection.
