1. Heard learned counsel for the applicant and learned counsel for the State.
2. The applicant, who is in custody since 25.10.2021, has approached this Court for grant of regular bail in connection with S.T. No. No.72 of 2022, arising out of Palkot P.S. Case No.32 of 2021, corresponding to G.R. No.39 of 2022, registered for the offence under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
3. It appears that the applicant has been made an accused for committing murder of the daughter of the informant.
4. Innocence of the applicant has been claimed and undertaking has been given for participation in the trial.
5. Learned counsel for the State has opposed the prayer for bail and it has been submitted that the trial is at the advance stage.
6. Considering the material available on record and the stage of trial, I am not inclined to enlarge the applicant on bail at this stage. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the applicant is, hereby, rejected.
7. However, the trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same as early as possible, preferably within four months from the date of receipt/ production of copy of this order.
