05/ 07.04.2022 The petitioner has approached this Court with a prayer for a direction upon the respondents to pay and release the benefit of General Provident Fund with penal and statutory interest on account of death of his father within specified period.

At the very outset, learned counsel for the respondents submits that already steps have been taken for releasing the amount of GPF in view of the letter dated 24.02.2022 issued by the Incharge, Medical Officer, Budmu and the entire amount of GPF shall be paid within a period of 15 days and letter to that effect has already been annexed in the supplementary counteraffidavit.

Learned counsel for the petitioner does not object the submission of the learned counsel for the respondents in view the specific averment made in supplementary counter-affidavit.

In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties, without going into the merits of this case, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction upon the respondents to pay the entire amount of GPF to the petitioner, within a period of 25 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The respondents may also consider the case of the petitioner for payment of statutory interest, in accordance with law.
