behalf of the petitioner.

2. This writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-

“ For issuance of direction commanding upon the respondents in the nature of mandamus for issuance of appointment letter to the petitioner who has successfully qualified in Prelims, Main examination and finally appeared in the Medical board as a reserved category candidate in the examination for the post of constable in India Reserved Battalion conducted by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Ranchi in the year 2017 and also prays for his joining on the post.”

3. Learned counsel for the respondents refers to paragraph No. 22 of the counter affidavit to submit that the petitioner has secured 660.5478165960 marks in S.T. (Male) category and last successful candidate in S.T. (Male) category has secured 674.2492344360 and as such the petitioner was not declared successful.

4. At this, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondents in their counter affidavit have also stated that the petitioner should have filed the representation before the concerned respondents.

5. Considering the aforesaid stand taken by the respondents in para 22 of the counter affidavit, it is not in dispute that the petitioner

had scored less marks than the last selected candidate in his category and therefore he was not declared successful. Thus, no relief as prayed for by the petitioner can be granted to the petitioner in this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed.
