Heard the parties.

Apprehending his arrest, the petitioner has moved this Court for grant of privilege of anticipatory bail in connection with Sadar P.S. Case No.172 of 2016 (G.R. No. 809 of 2016) registered under sections 147/353/342/427 of the Indian Penal Code and under section 4 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.

The Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the allegation against the petitioner is that upon receiving telephonic information of abduction of a youth of one community, when the police personnel proceeded to the place of occurrence and got the victim released from the clutches of the members of the other community, the petitioner and others being members of an unlawful assembly intercepted the vehicle of the police and attempted to beat the said victim and also caused mischief by breaking the official vehicle and also used criminal force against the police personnel deterring them from discharging their duties and also took away the key of the vehicle. It is further submitted that the allegations against the petitioner are all false and the case of the prosecution is not trustworthy. Hence, it is submitted that the petitioner be given the privilege of anticipatory bail.
