Heard learned counsel for the parties. Learned A.P.P. opposes the prayer for bail.
The petitioner is an accused for allegedly committing an offence punishable under Sections 387/34 of the IPC.
This is a case of demand of Rangdari from the owner of the petrol pump by handing over a letter for paying Rs. 5,00,000/- as Rangdari. Petitioner is not named in the FIR. His name has transpired in the instant case on the basis of confessional statement of co-accused. Nothing has been recovered from his possession. Petitioner was shown to be identified in the CCTV footage.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody since 20.08.2016.
Taking into consideration the period of custody, I am inclined to allow this application. Accordingly, the petitioner above named is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned SDJM, Khunti in connection with Murhu Police Station Case No. 06 of 2016 (G.R. No. 46 of 2016), subject to the condition that petitioner shall appear before the trial court on each and every date during trial, failing which his bail bond shall stand cancelled and trial court shall take all possible steps for his apprehension.
