Referring to a communication dated 24.01.2013 obtained through Right to Information Act, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, though the petitioner along with others submitted application for appointment on the post of Information Commissioner, Jharkhand, no decision has yet been taken. The learned counsel further submits that, a direction may be given to the respondent-State of Jharkhand for taking a decision expeditiously.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondent-State of Jharkhand submits that, a fresh committee has recently been constituted for the purpose of scrutinizing the applications submitted for appointment on the post of Information Commissioner and in due course appropriate decision would be taken.

From the materials disclosed in the present proceeding, I am not inclined to entertain this writ petition and accordingly, it is

dismissed. However, it is expected that the respondent-State of Jharkhand would take necessary decision in the matter expeditiously.
