The petitioners are accused in a case registered under Sections 498A, 326, 307, 34 and 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

It reveals from the Fardbeyan of the deceased that she was subjected to tortured and treated with cruelty for want of more dowry during her lifetime. On the date of incident, Petitioner No.2 sprinkled kerosene oil, whereas Petitioner No.1 set her on fire. She sustained burn injury and removed to hospital, where her Fardbeyan was recorded, and on the basis of which present case has been instituted. During treatment, she scummed to her injury.

It is submitted that the informant had made attempt to commit suicide and later she died. Her husband had tried to save her and during that he also sustained burn injury and was admitted to a hospital for his treatment. The informant had also given statement before the police that she had committed suicide, which is appearing from the case diary.
