When the matter is taken up for hearing, at the outset, learned advocates appearing for both the sides have conveyed to the Court that demolition drive has been concluded on 11.12.2020 and in that view of the matter, learned advocate Mr. S.P. Majmudar, under instruction, has stated that there is some policy regarding grant of alternative accommodation to the persons in view of their longstanding occupation over the plot in question and for that purpose, the petitioners would like to make representation before the respondent authority.

In view of the above, the petitioners are permitted to make representation before the respondent authority within a period of ONE WEEK from today. As and when such application is submitted by the petitioners with a request, as stated above, the competent authority shall consider the case of the petitioners in view of the policy being brought to the notice and take appropriate decision in accordance with law after due compliance of the principles of natural justice.

This Court has not expressed any opinion on merit. It is independently left open for the authority to consider the request of the petitioners.
