Heard Mr. S. Chakraborty, learned counsel for the writ petitioners. Also heard Mr. D. Upamanyu, learned Standing Counsel, Higher Education Department, Government of Assam.

Mr. P. Bhardwaj, learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the Governing Body of Women’s College, Silchar submits that the Governing Body, in its meeting held on 19.10.2023, has resolved to treat the emergent Governing Body Meeting dated 22.02.2019 and its resolution as null and void and a fresh ICC will be constituted strictly following the verdict of the Division Bench of this Court in Case No.WA 331/2016. He, therefore, submits that in view of the resolution dated 19.10.2023, the matter has become infructuous.

Accordingly, all the writ petitions including the IA stands disposed of as infructuous, however, with the observation that any consequential action taken by the ICC and the Governing Body in its emergent meeting held on 22.02.2019 shall stand as null and void.
