Heard Mr. P. Bordoloi, learned counsel for the writ petitioners. Also heard Ms. J. Gogoi, learned standing counsel, NCHAC appearing for the official respondents.

The writ petitioners herein had participated in the selection process for filling up 05 Grade-IV posts (Khalasi) in the Irrigation Department of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council. After completion of the selection process, as many as 03 candidates have already been appointed. However, the authorities have not yet issued appointment order in case of the two writ petitioners. As such, the instant writ petition has been filed seeking a direction from this Court. This writ petition was posted today for obtaining instruction by

the learned counsel for the respondents.

Ms. J. Gogoi, learned standing counsel, NCHAC has produced a copy of the letter dated 02-09-2024 issued by the Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, NCHAC, Halflong, a perusal of which goes to show that proposal for appointment in the remaining two posts of Khalasi in question is pending for approval of the NCHAC. Ms. Gogoi submits that within 03 months from today the appointment will be made after receiving the necessary approval.

Taking note of the grievance expressed in the writ petition, this Court had passed interim order on 01-08-2024 restraining the authorities not to fill up the two posts claimed by the two writ petitioners, by any other persons.

In view of the stand taken by Ms. Gogoi, learned standing counsel, NCHAC, this Court is of the view that the writ petition can be finally disposed of by making the interim order dated 01-08-2024 as absolute.

In view of the above, this writ petition is hereby disposed of by retaining a copy of the letter dated 02-09-2024 in this record of this case. The interim order dated 01-082024, is hereby made absolute.
