Heard Shri NNB Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Shri K Gogoi, learned State Counsel, Assam.
Taking into account the written instructions received by the learned State Counsel, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage.
The petitioner is the owner of a vehicle (Bus), bearing Registration No. AS-24-C2324 which was hired by the Police Department, Govt. of Assam. With regard to the same, bill amounting to Rs. 8,90,134/- has been raised which, however is yet to be cleared.
Shri Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the amount in question, is the legitimate due of the petitioner and due to delay in payment of the same, grave prejudice and hardship have been suffered.
Shri Gogoi, learned State Counsel has placed on record the written instructions dated 07.11.2022 as per which, the matter regarding the payment of bills to the petitioner has been forwarded to the Sanctioning Authority. He submits that as and when the necessary sanction is granted, the pending bills of the petitioner would be cleared.
After hearing the parties and on perusal of the records, this Court is of the view that from the written instructions, it appears that there is no dispute in principle regarding the claim of the petitioner towards bills raised for hiring of the aforesaid vehicle.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent authorities to expedite the matter, including the matter of grant of sanction and thereafter pay the admissible due to the petitioner.
The aforesaid exercise be undertaken and completed expeditiously and preferably within a period of 4 months from today.
