Ms. A. Das, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Ms. D. Angana, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the District Level Committee (DLC), Karbi Anglong had recommended the name of the petitioner for compassionate appointment in its meeting minutes dated 06.05.2015, the State Level Committee (SLC) has not considered the case of the petitioner.

Mr. R. Dhar, learned counsel for the State respondents has produced letter dated 20.09.2022 issued by the Deputy Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home (A) Department and the SLC meeting minutes dated 06.06.2017, which shows that the petitioner’s application for compassionate appointment has been rejected on the ground that the petitioner’s father did not have 3 (three) years of service at the time of his death, as required in terms of Point No.1 of O.M.

In view of the letter dated 20.09.2022 and the SLC meeting minutes dated 06.06.2017, which are made a part of the record and marked as Annexure-X & Y respectively, there is no issue to be adjudicated in the present writ petition.

The writ petition is accordingly closed, with a direction to the respondents’ counsel, to furnish a copy of the SLC meeting minutes dated 06.06.2017 to the petitioner’s counsel during the course of the day.
