of his activities, he is a frequent visitor to the State of Assam for addressing public gatherings. A claim is made that because of such activity of the petitioner, he is facing life threat and had been attacked by antisocial elements. To substantiate the claim that he had been attacked by some antisocial elements, reference is made to an FIR dated 30.03.2015 filed by Lalit Pegu, General Secretary, Voters Party (International), which is registered as Boginodi PS Case No. 33/2015. The FIR states that on 30.03.2015 in the night at about 1.30 a.m., some criminal elements came to the guest house where the petitioner Bharat Gandhi was residing. When the intruders were not allowed in, they attacked some subordinate workers serving under the petitioner. Immediately the petitioner Bharat Gandhi informed the Director General of Police, Assam on his mobile phone i.e. in the middle of the night. The FIR also states that the Director General of Police had responded well by referring the matter to the Superintendent of Police, Lakhimpur and thereafter the Officer-in-Charge of Boginodi Police Station arrived at the alleged place of occurrence and did the needful.
