The prayer of the petitioner is that though he was paid compensation for damage for the standing crops, in view of the shifting of Electric Towers, the petitioner has not been paid solatium & interest in terms of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and

Resettlement Act, 2013, herein after referred to as the ‘2013 Act’.

There is nothing in the writ petition to show that the petitioner’s land was acquired by the respondents in terms of the 2013 Act. The question that arises is as to whether the petitioner can claim solatium & interest under the 2013 Act, when there has been no acquisition of land under the 2013 Act.

The above being said, this Court finds that no one had appeared for the petitioner on the last Court date also. The petitioner does not seem to be interested in pursuing the matter.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed for non prosecution.
