Heard Mr. S. Bora, learned counsel for the petitioners in WP(C) No. 2069/2022, WP(C) No. 2075/2022, WP(C) No. 2080/2022 & WP(C) No. 2108/2022. Also heard Mr. T. Gogoi, learned counsel for the Assam State Housing Board.

2. The petitioners in all the writ petitions have retired from the Assam State Housing Board and their grievance is that they have not been paid their retirement benefits.

3. The learned counsel for the Assam State Housing Board (ASHB) submits that the retirement benefits claimed by all the writ petitioners in all the writ petitions are admitted amounts, except for the retirement benefit amount claimed by the writ petitioner in WP(C) No. 2080/2022.

4. The learned counsel for the ASHB submits that the retirement benefit payable to the petitioner in WP(C) No. 2080/2022 is Rs. 2,80,076/- and not Rs. 3,02,179/-.

The learned counsel for the ASHB submits that due to the poor financial condition of the ASHB, the demands of the petitioners, for releasing their entire retirement benefits could not be considered. However, the ASHB has now taken a stand that they would be releasing all the retirement benefits of the petitioners by way of monthly installments @ Rs. 50,000/- p.m.

6. Mr. S. Bora, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he has got no objection if the retirement benefits of the petitioners are paid in monthly installments @ Rs. 50,000/- p.m, which should be paid in the 1^st week of each month.

7. In view of the consent of the learned counsels for the parties, the writ petitions are disposed of with a direction to the respondents, to pay the admitted retirement benefits of the petitioners on monthly installments @ Rs. 50,000/- p.m, which should be paid in the 1^st week of each month.

8. It is also submitted at the bar that Rs. 50,000/- each had been paid to each of the petitioners by cheque today.

9. In view of the above, the next installment for payment of retirement benefits would fall due within the 1^st week of June, 2022 and thereafter.

10. The writ petitions are accordingly disposed of.
