Heard Ms. G. Swami, learned counsel for the petitioner, who submits that the petitioner is the unmarried daughter. However, though the petitioner’s father and mother have expired, the petitioner has not been given family pension. The petitioner has also submitted a representation dated 06.12.2021 to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Assam for payment of family pension, which has not been considered by the authorities till date.

Mr. R.K. Talukdar, learned counsel appears for the respondent No. 3.

Mr. G. Bordoloi, learned counsel appearing for the Cooperation Department has submitted a letter dated 28.03.2022 issued by the Addl. Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Admn.), Assam, which is to the effect that the petitioner had submitted a prayer petition to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Admn.), Assam vide letter dated 06.12.2021, seeking family pension and that the Addl. Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Admn.), Assam, vide letter dated 20.01.2022 had written a letter to the petitioner, requesting her to submit the original relevant documents for further action.

In view of the above facts, the petitioner is directed to submit all the original

relevant documents required for grant of pension to the Addl. Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Admn.), Assam. Thereafter, the process of verification and grant of family pension should be processed by the respondent authorities, within a period of 1 (one) month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. If the respondent authorities come to a decision that the petitioner is entitled to payment of family pension, the same should be paid to her, within a further period of 6 (six) weeks thereafter.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.

The letter dated 28.03.2022 and 20.01.2022 issued by the Addl. Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Admn.), Assam are made a part of the record and marked as Annexure-‘X’ & ‘Y’ respectively.
