Heard Mr. P. Taffo, learned counsel for the petitioners and also heard Mr. A. Apang, learned Sr. Counsel appearing for the APPSC and Mr. I. Riram, learned Government Advocate appearing for the State respondents.

On 09.01.2017, the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission notified an advertisement inviting applications in a prescribed formate from persons who are eligible and interested for filling up 33 posts of Range Forest Officer, Group-B (Gazetted). Being aggrieved by certain terms and conditions given in the advertisement, the petitioners herein challenged the same by filing W.P.(C) No. 162(AP)/2017 based on the Arunachal Pradesh Forest Service Rules, 1999. After the matter was heard on 30.05.2018, the prayer of the petitioners was allowed. However, after coming to realise that the recruitment rule and service conditions of Forest Ranger Officer is governed by a different rule i.e. “Recruitment Rule of Range Forest Officer/Forest Ranger, 2003” they are back here before this Court by filing this review petition praying for recalling the order dated 30.05.2018.

After hearing the learned counsels appearing for the parties and also after perusing the order dated 30.05.2018 including the writ petition registered as W.P.(C) No. 162(AP)/2017, it appears that the petitioners had approached this Court based on the service rules of Arunachal Pradesh Forest Service Rules and not the recruitment rule of Range Forest Officer/Forest Ranger, 2003. As such, the judgment & order dated 30.05.2018, passed in W.P.(C) No. 162(AP)/2017 is recalled and the writ petition is disposed. However, the petitioners are granted liberty to approach this Court again, if so advised.
