Heard Mr. SU Ahmed, learned counsel for the applicant, Mr. PK Borah, learned counsel for the respondent Nos. 1, 3, 5 and 6 being the authorities in the Elementary Education Department of the Government of Assam and Mr. SR Barua, learned counsel for the respondent Nos. 2 and 4 being the State Level Committee and District Level Committee, Nagaon.

By the order dated 16.12.2020 in WP(C) No.5335/2020, a direction was issued that the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment be placed before the next available DLC of Hojai district. It is stated that Hojai district is a newly created district by bifurcating the earlier Nagaon district. But for the purpose of the DLC, the DLC of Nagaon district still has jurisdiction over the matters in the Hojai district.

Consequently, the order dated 16.12.2020 stands corrected by providing that the claim of the applicant/petitioner for compassionate appointment be placed before the next available DLC of Nagaon district.

With the above correction, the interlocutory application stands allowed.
