The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (A&C Act) seeking extension of time for completion of arbitral proceedings and making of the arbitral award.

Arbitration proceedings have been ongoing between the parties in the context of a Service Agreement dated 19.03.2014 entered into between the petitioner and the erstwhile respondent company, Telenor (India) Communications Private Limited, which has since dissolved and merged into Bharti Airtel Limited. Bharti Airtel Limited has been substituted as the respondent in the arbitral proceedings. The Arbitral Tribunal came to be constituted vide order dated 03.11.2016 passed by this Court in ARB.P.

The petitioner seeks extension of time by a further period of three months for completion of the arbitral proceedings and making of the arbitral award.

Considering the circumstances, the time period for completion of the arbitral proceedings and making of the arbitral award is extended till 31.12.2026.
