Delhi High Court (Madhu Jain, J.), by order dated 20.07.2026 in CRL.M.C. 932/2026, quashed FIR No. 008/2021 registered at Police Station Ambedkar Nagar for offences punishable under Sections 420, 468, 471 and 34 of the IPC, 1860, qua the petitioners only, along with all consequential proceedings, and disposed of the petition. The Petitioners had allegedly induced Respondent No. 2 to pay money on the assurance of securing a government job for her husband; the parties subsequently settled all their disputes by a Settlement Deed dated 09.09.2021, and in terms of the Court's order dated 04.02.2026 the Petitioners paid Rs. 2,00,000/- to Respondent No. 2 in Court. Respondent No. 2, identified by the IO, categorically affirmed before the Court that she had entered into the compromise out of her own free will, without pressure, coercion or threat, and had no objection to the quashing. Holding that continuance of the proceedings would serve no useful purpose and would only create further acrimony between the parties, and that no legal impediment existed, the Court quashed the FIR in the interest of justice.

By the way of the present petition petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR No. 008/2021 for the offences punishable under Sections 420/468/471/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter referred to as the ‘IPC’ ) registered at Police Station Ambedkar Nagar and all the proceedings emanating therefrom.

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State.

The petitioner and respondents no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel.

Brief facts of the case are that the Petitioners allegedly induced Respondent No. 2 to pay money on the assurance of securing a government job for her husband, pursuant to which FIR No. 008/2021 was registered at P.S. Ambedkar Nagar, New Delhi. Subsequently, the parties amicably settled

all their disputes and executed a Settlement Deed dated 09.09.2021. Learned APP for the State opposes the present petition.

Learned counsel for the Petitioners and learned counsel for Respondent No. 2 submit that, in terms of the order dated 04.02.2026 passed by this Court, the Petitioners have paid the amount of Rs. 2,00,000/- to Respondent No. 2 in Court today.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise, vide Settlement Agreement da ted 09.09.2021, o ut of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Accordingly, FIR No. 008/2021 , registered at Police Station Ambedkar Nagar, for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 468, 471 and 34 of the IPC, 1860, along with all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom, is hereby quashed qua the petitioners, only. The present petition is disposed of. 10. Pending application(s), if any, also stand(s) disposed of. The order be uploaded on the website forthwith.
