Present petition has been filed with the following prayer: -

“(a) Be kind and graciously pleased to call for the entire records of the case from the jail authorities regarding punishment awarded to the petitioner for committing prison offences, if any.

¶14

(b) In the event major punishment is actually awarded to petitioner, subsequently be kind and pleased to issue a writ of certiorari quashing the said alleged impugned punishment order dated Nil (not yet supplied to the petitioner despite repeated requests) whereby and where under respondents have inflicted 3 major punishments to the petitioner as orally conveyed by the jail authorities to petitioner for allegedly committing prison offences but copy of the said punishment has not been supplied to the petitioner despite repeated requests by petitioner as well as by his Counsels as evident from facts mentioned in this petition.

(c) In the event no major punishment is inflicted on the petitioner, the same be clarified by jail authorities including clarification that all applicable remission and parole will be granted to the petitioner and his normal release from jail after completion of life sentence will be considered like other jail inmates.”

Learned counsel for petitioner submits that the status report clarifies every aspect and in view of the aforesaid status report, petitioner would now take appropriate steps seeking legal remedies, as available under law. He, therefore, at the moment, does not press for any further relief and states that petition be disposed of.

In view of the above, present petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioner to take recourse to the remedies, as available under law.
