The petitioner has filed this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution contending that his case for pre-mature release had not been placed by the respondents before the Sentence Review Board [“SRB”] at its meeting held on 18.06.2026.

However, the respondents have filed status reports, from which, it appears that the petitioner’s case was, in fact, placed before the SRB at its meeting held on 18.06.2026, and was rejected vide order dated 04.08.2026.

In view of the above, Dr. Mukul Sharma, learned counsel for the petitioner, seeks permission to withdraw this petition, without prejudice
