The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent/Election Commission of India (ECI) to approve the name and register the political party of the petitioner.

The petitioner had filed an application for registration of the political party on 17^th February, 2025. This was followed by representations dated 5^th June, 2025 and 9^th March, 2026.

Counsel appears on behalf of respondent/ECI and has handed over communications dated 11^th March, 2026 and 17^th July, 2026 addressed to the District Election Officer (‘DEO’), District Begusarai, Bihar, whereby the ECI has directed the DEO to carry out the address verification of the petitioner party.
