The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner, inter alia, seeking substitution of her name in the Certificate of Vending (hereinafter, ‘CoV’) in place of her deceased husband, in whose favour CoV had been issued.

A brief background of the present case is that Petitioner's husband was issued a CoV bearing URI No. V2025100253 , for selling handicraft items in the Janpath area.

The husband of the Petitioner is stated to have passed away on 15^th February, 2026.

The Petitioner, who is wife of late Mr. Chaman Lal, has filed the present petition seeking substitution of Petitioner’s name in place of her deceased husband, in the CoV.

Considering that the CoV has been duly verified in terms of Section 5(2) of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, the Petitioner is permitted to carry on vending activities

in place of her deceased husband. The Town Vending Committee shall substitute Petitioner’s name in the CoV, as the legal heir of the deceased, late Sh. Chaman Lal, as per law.

Further, the following directions are also issued:

i) The Petitioner shall strictly comply with the terms and conditions of the Certificate of Vending.

¶26

ii) She shall not increase the space of her vending site beyond what is permissible as per the Certificate of Vending.

¶27

iii) Petitioner shall only be permitted to vend in the place of her husband for the period till the period when the COV is valid.

¶28

iv) The above shall be subject to any decision taken by the Town Vending Committee-2, in respect of the final list of approved vendors.

¶29

Subject to the above, the Petitioner shall not be disturbed from peacefully vending from the vending site.

Petition is disposed of. All pending applications, if any, are also disposed of.
