Rajesh Vij Vs State of NCT of Delhi & Anr.

By way of the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 0530/2025, registered at Police Station Keshav Puram, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 331(1)/126(2)/351 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanita, 2023 (hereafter 'BNS').

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (I0) concerned, Police Station Keshav Puram, Delhi.

Brief facts of the case are that the petitioner had rented a property to respondent no. 2 in May, 2025. It is stated that due to various differences, disputes and issues had arisen between the petitioner and respondent no. 2.

Upon the complaint by respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioner under the relevant Sections. It is stated that with the intervention of the close friends and relatives, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide Settlement Agreement dated 10.09.2025 arrived at between them.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the 10, has categorically stated that he has entered into compromise out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 0530/2025, registered at Police Station Keshav Puram, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 331(1)/126(2)/351 of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

The petition stands disposed of.
