By way of the instant writ petition, the petitioner seeks following prayer:

"a. Allow the present Writ Petition.

¶12

b. Issue a Writ/ Direction/Order in the nature of Mandamus or any other Writ of similar nature thereby directing Respondent Nos.1, 2 & 3 to provide appropriate police protection to the Petitioner.

c. Issue a Writ / Direction / Order in the nature of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ of similar nature thereby directing the 24 Respondent No.1, 2 & 3 to investigate the complaint dated 23.08.2025 of the petitioner and to take appropriate action against Respondent No.4 in accordance with Law;"

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned ASC for the respondent/State.

In the present case, the petitioner is a senior citizen, aged 66 years and

is a widow woman. She is a devoted parent of three children, all of whom she had raised with unwavering love, care and to the best of her abilities. Throughout their formative years, she had consistently provided them with emotional, educational and financial support. It is stated that her younger daughter, Mrs. Anita Kothari and son, Mr. Digvijay Singh Kothari, are wellestablished. The only grievance of the petitioner is qua respondent No. 4, who is her eldest daughter. It is stated that respondent no. 4 had unfortunately gone through two failed marriages. The petitioner had provided all possible emotional and financial support during these difficult phases in the life of respondent No. 4. However, over time, respondent No. 4 had began subjecting the petitioner to mental torture and harassment, which causing her severe emotional trauma. Taking the advantage of the absence of other children of the petitioner, and her ill health, respondent No. 4 repeatedly threatened the life of petitioner.

The petitioner has prayed for protection for her life from respondent no. 4. The right to life and liberty is a Fundamental Right guaranteed by the Constitution of India and the instant case merits the indulgence of this Court in ensuring the same.

Therefore, keeping in view the sensitivity of the present matter and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the SHO, PS Dwarka, New Delhi is directed to provide adequate protection to the petitioner from respondent no. 4. Further, the petitioner is directed to provide her mobile numbers to the concerned SHO and Beat Constable, as well as phone numbers of Beat Constable and concerned SHO be shared with the petitioner. For all other grievances, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the concerned Area Magistrate.
