Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 B.N.S.S., 2023 and petitioner, inter alia , seeks directions in the nature of Habeas Corpus to the respondents to produce detenue- Ms. Anjali.

The brief facts of the case are that the petitioner and the detenue- Ms. Anjali, were in a committed and consensual relationship. They remained in constant communication through messages and social-media chats, during which the detenue repeatedly conveyed her free and voluntary desire to marry the petitioner. She had also informed him that her parents were exerting emotional pressure upon her and were attempting to compel her into a marriage against her wishes.

However, on 23.11.2025, all communication from the detenue stopped abruptly. Her mobile phone became unreachable, and her WhatsApp and other social-media accounts were suddenly deactivated. Despite repeated attempts by the petitioner, she remained completely inaccessible.

Since that date, the petitioner has neither been able to contact nor meet Ms. Anjali, and her whereabouts stand concealed.

Status report dated 01.12.2025 has been submitted during the course of proceedings and same is taken on record.

The detenue- Ms. Anjali, has also joined the proceedings through video conferencing . We have interacted with the girl in question who is 19 years of age and is studying in the first year of a bachelor’s course. She submits that she has already got married to one Mr. Akshay of her own free will, and without any undue influence or coercion and would like to stay with her husband only.
