Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the CBSE states that, although, in terms of their notification dated 25.06.2015, it is not permissible for them to permit change of name or surname of a candidate after the publication of the result; it is, however, possible to permit the change of name or surname before the publication of the result of the candidate.

In view of the foregoing, in the present case, although, the change of name or surname, insofar as, the petitioner is concerned, cannot be permitted in relation to the Class X^th certificate issued by the CBSE in terms of the said notification; the change of the name or surname, however, can be permitted for Class XII^th certificate, since
