Mr Atul Kumar, learned counsel for the respondent/ CBSE, says that he has instructions to convey to the court that the petitioners’ request for change in surname in the respondent’s/ CBSE’s record, as shown below, will be allowed:

Learned counsel for the petitioners says that in view of the stand taken by learned counsel for the respondent/ CBSE, he does not wish to press the writ petition any further.
In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of based on statement made by Mr Atul Kumar. Needless to say, the respondent/ CBSE will effect the change in surnames of the petitioners in their record, within four weeks from today.
