The petitioner has filed the instant petition for following reliefs:-

“10.1 That, this Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to call for records with regards to case of the petitioner, in the interest of justice.

10.2 That, this Hon’ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent authorities to decide the second appeal preferred by the petitioner as per the Act of Right to Information Act 2005, in the interest of justice.

10.3 That, any other relief in the discretion of this Hon’ble Court. Any other relief, which the Hon’ble Court deems fit and proper under the facts and circumstances, may also be provided to the petitioner.”

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the Second Appellate authority i.e., the Chief Information Commission, which has been pending for consideration since 09.04.2025. In the present petition, the petitioner seeks a limited direction to the Chief Information Commissioner to decide the said appeal within a stipulated time frame. Hence, the present petition.

Learned counsel appearing for respondent No. 1 submits that, as the petitioner's appeal is pending before the concerned State Information Commission, the same shall be decided expeditiously, preferably within a period of 45 days.

Learned counsel for the State does not oppose the limited prayer as made by the counsel for the petitioner.

Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the material available on record.

Considering the limited relief sought by the petitioner and after hearing learned counsel for the parties, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the present petition with a direction to the Chief Information Commission to consider and decide the petitioner's pending second appeal, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

With this observation and direction, the petition stands disposed of.
