What did the court decide?
On careful consideration of the entire oral and documentary evidence, the learned Trial Court rightly acquitted the accused: the prosecutrix (PW-8), the most material witness, did not support the prosecution case at all — she stated she left home on her own after being scolded by her father, denied accompanying the accused and denied any wrongful or sexual act, and nothing could be elicited in her hostile cross-examination to support the prosecution version.
