1. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the name of mother of the petitioner was wrongly entered in the mark-sheets of Class-10 th & 12 th . He would submit that the petitioner passed Class-10 th in the year 2003 and Class-12 th in the year 2006. The

correct name of mother of the petitioner is Bhelki Bai Kashyap whereas, in the mark-sheets her name is recorded as Laxmi Kashyap. He would further submit that the petitioner may be permitted to make a representation in light of the circulars dated 4.9.2018 and 31.3.2022 issued by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Raipur for correction of name of mother of the petitioner.

1. On the other hand, learned counsel for respondents No.2 & 3/ Board of Secondary Education would oppose the submissions made by counsel for the petitioner. He would submit that the petitioner wants to change the entire name of his mother. He would further submit that earlier in the mark-sheets of Class-10 th & 12 th her name is mentioned as Laxmi Kashyap whereas, now the petitioner wants to change it to Bhelki Bai Kashyap, which is not permissible.

1. Learned counsel for the State and respondents No.4, 5 & 6 would support the submissions made by counsel for respondents No.2 & 3.

1. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents present on record.

1. Taking into consideration the circulars dated 4.9.2018 and 31.3.2022 where it is stated that the application for correction in the name of mother, father or surname can be considered after lapse of 20 years, therefore, at this juncture, the petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to make a representation before the Board of Secondary Education. If such representation is made, same shall be decided by the respondents No.2 & 3 within a period of three months from the

date of receipt of a copy of representation in accordance with the existing rules and circular.
