By the present writ petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction

towards the respondents to consider the representation dated 13/02/2016 submitted by him before the respondent No.1/Secretary, General Administration Department, State of Chhattisgarh with a prayer for enhancement of compensation granted by this Court vide Order dated 22/03/2007 in Writ Petition No. 1557/2003 filed by the petitioner for direction to the respondent authorities to offer employment as well as to provide possible medical treatment to him on the State expenses and further to pay compensation.

On 22/03/2007, the writ petition was disposed of with a direction to the respondent authority to pay monetary compensation of Rs.3.00 lacs to the petitioner. The respondent No. 1 was also directed to invest the amount of Rs.3.00 lacs in one equities or deposit for a monthly income of not less than Rs.2,500/- for a period of 7 years and pay the amount of interest accruing on such deposit to the petitioner each month.

After the order of this Court in Writ Petition No. 1557/2003, the present writ petition has been filed with a prayer that the petitioner has preferred a representation to respondent No.1 for compliance of the order dated 22/03/2007 passed by this Court in WP No.1557/2003, the same may be directed to be decided.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submits that the representation dated 13/02/2016 (Annexure P/4) is still pending before the Secretary, General Administration Department,

State of Chhattisgarh and no decision has been taken till date.

At this juncture, learned counsel appearing for the respondents/State submits that if the representation has not been decided, the same shall be decided within a stipulated period of time.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents.

As stated by the State counsel that the representation will be decided within a stipulated period of time, the respondent No.1/State is directed to decide the pending representation dated 13/02/2016 (Annexure P/4) in accordance with the observation made by this Court in WP No.1557/2003, dated 22/03/2007 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this Order.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
