the impugned order be set aside and during the pendency of the writ petition, the official respondents be directed not to issue any order of promotion in favour of the reserved category candidates till the matter is adjudicated by the CAT.

learned CAT has rightly directed that the promotional exercise, result and seniority position shall be subject to the final outcome of the original application, the order in question will serve the purpose and we are not inclined to stay the further promotion as it will not be appropriate. Consequently, the writ petition is dismissed
