The Applicant is present in person. She filed an application for a waiver/reduction of the compensation amount. She submits that at present she is having only Rs. 2,700/- (Rupees Two Thousand Seven Hundred only) with her which she will be able to deposit with the Goa State Legal Services Authority towards the compounding of the offence.

Considering the affidavit filed on record and the fact that the entire amount of the cheque of the compensation is already deposited with the Respondent No. 1, contention of the Applicant could be considered sympathetically.

Accordingly, permission is granted to the Applicant to deposit Rs. 2,700/- (Rupees Two Thousand Seven Hundred only) with the Goa State Legal Services Authority today itself as the charges for compounding the offence. The Goa State Legal Services Authority shall accept the said amount and produce the receipt.

Compounding of the offence is granted subject to deposit of Rs. 2,700/- (Rupees Two Thousand Seven Hundred only) today itself with the Goa State Legal Services Authority. Accordingly, the impugned order passed by the Sessions Court and Trial Court of sentencing and awarding compensation is hereby quashed and set aside. Applicant is permitted to compound the said offence subject to deposit of the above amount.

Proceedings stand disposed of in above terms.
