been restored and, therefore, it may not be now possible to consider the application for grant of parole on this ground. In fact, as rightly submitted by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Apex Court has already taken a stricter view of a prisoner, who has been released on parole on the ground of Covid-19 pandemic when it directed, in it’s order dated 29.04.2022 passed in Writ Petition (Civil) No.1067 of 2021 , the prisoners to report back to the prison within two weeks from the date of the order. The Apex Court noted that parole granted to the prisoners could not be extended any further. Besides, the additional ground of Covid-19 that was available to the prisoners to seek parole has now been withdrawn by the Government Resolution dated 04.05.2022.
