certain property known as Gambers Estate situated at S.V.Road, Malad (West), Mumbai. Because of the dominating nature of the respondent, lack of business acumen, the partnership business was seriously affected. The appellant, therefore, had to resign from his government services in September, 1993 to look after the building project undertaken by the said partnership firm. With the appellant's participation, the partnership business was moving on the right track and the partnership purchased further properties. The respondent, her father and the appellant's nephew executed a power of attorney in favour of the appellant on 6th January,1994 to enable the appellant him to conduct the business of the said partnership. Due to the appellant's efforts and hardwork the partnership acquired good business. On this background the respondent started having political ambitions and in the year 1996 she joined a political party and day and night remained busy in the party work, thereby completely neglecting her matrimonial duties and responsibilities towards the appellant and the children. The respondent spent huge sums of money and contested Municipal elections from Vile Parle, Mumbai in February / March,1997 and lost the elections. The appellant was hopeful that after the respondent lost the elections, she would have give up politics. However, the respondent thereafter started a so called Non Government Organization (NGO) in the name of 'Jan Jagran Manch and at the cost of neglecting the family indulged in so called social work.
