The petitioner-landlord seeks expeditious disposal of the
rent control matter instituted by him in the year 1990. Similar relief was also sought in respect of an appeal preferred under the provisions of clause 21 (1) of the C.P. & Berrar Letting of Premises and Rent Control Order 1949. However, during the pendency of the writ petition, that the appeal has been decided. Mr. Anthony, learned counsel for the petitioner, therefore, restricts the present challenge only to the rent control case registered as Revenue Case No. 293/A-71(1) of 1990-91. According to him, the landlord is a senior citizen and hence the proceedings instituted for determining

the fair rent must be expeditiously decided. Mr. Khan, learned A.G.P., upon instructions states that the matter will be decided within a reasonable period.
In this situation, we direct respondent no.2 to decide aforementioned revenue case within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order. The petitioner to communicate this order to respondent no.3 by filing separate affidavit. Parties are directed to cooperate respondent no.2 for expeditious disposal of the matter.
With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
