By this petition, the petitioners seek a writ for quashing and setting aside the election programme dated 24.09.2012 issued by the respondent no.3. The petitioners also pray for a direction to the respondent no.2 to hold the elections on the basis of the voters' list of 130 members, approved by the Social Welfare Department.
The first prayer cannot be granted as the Assistant Registrar has taken steps to hold the election in pursuance of the directions issued by this Court on 13.08.2012 in Writ Petition No.2087/2010.
The other prayer for a direction to the respondent no.2 to hold the elections on the basis of the voters' list of 130 members cannot be granted at this stage as the election programme is published as early as on 25.09.2012 and today, the date is fixed for acceptance of nomination papers and for publishing the list of validly nominated candidates. This Court is not inclined to interfere with the process of election as the election is being conducted in pursuance of the

directions issued by this Court by the judgment dated 13.08.2012 in Writ Petition No.2087/2010.
The petitioners would have the other remedies open for challenging the election.
Hence, the writ petition is disposed of with no order as to costs.
