. The principal grievance in this petition is about anomaly arising out of inconsistency between the Transport of Animals Rules, 1978 framed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 on the one hand and the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 on the other hand. The Transport Commissioner of the State Government had, therefore, made recommendations to the State Government to amend the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. The State Government has now issued notification dated 15th March 2012, publishing the draft amendments to the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 and inviting objections and suggestions. The Assistant Transport Commissioner has filed affidavit dated 21st March 2012 placing on record copy of notification dated 15th March 2012.

. In view of above, it is obvious that the grievance voiced in the petition is being attended to and the State Government is taking steps for that purpose.
. In view of above, this writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to file any fresh petition, in case need arises.
