1Heard the learned counsel for the applicant who
has been appointed to espouse the cause of the
applicant. Heard learned A.P.P for State and the
learned counsel for the petitioners in the writ
petition.

2Our attention is invited to sub rule 4 of Rule
12 of the The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
(Prevention of Atrocities) Rules, 1995. In view of
the said rules, we dispose of the application by
passing the following order :

i) We direct the second respondent (District
Magistrate) to consider the case of the
applicant for granting relief in accordance
with sub rule 4 of Rule 12 of The Scheduled
Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of

provisions of the Rule.

ii)Thesecondrespondentshalltake
appropriate decision within a period of four
weeks from today and shall communicate the same
