Learned counsel for the petitioner do not press this writ petition and seeks liberty to the petitioner to make representation for seeking rental compensation along with interest. The petition is disposed of as not pressed with liberty as prayed.

If the petitioner makes representation, as aforementioned, within a period of two weeks from today, same may be considered and decided by the concerned Special Land Acquisition Officer, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from the date of the representation. It is open to the petitioner to rely upon the judgment of this Court dated 24.7.202008 in Dinkar Sandipan Gholve and others Vs. The State of Maharashtra and others in Writ Petition No.2559 of 2008 or any other such judgment of this Court or of the Supreme Court in support of their claim. We hope and trust that the Special Land Acquisition Officer shall deal with the representation made by the petitioner in the light of the judgments that will be cited before him. We observe that the Special Land Acquisition Officer while deciding the representation of the petitioner, will issue notice to the acquiring body and grant them an opportunity of being heard. It is needless to mention that if the representation of the petitioner is allowed, the payment to the petitioner may be made expeditiously.
