This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India by which the petitioners challenge the notification issued by respondent no.3, dated 4.2.2010, reserving all seven seats of Wai Grampanchayat in the elections scheduled to be held shortly.

the said order it is observed that the total population of the said Wai Grampanchayat is 1225, out of which the population of Scheduled Tribes is 1164. In that light of the matter, therefore, all seven seats of Wai Grampanchayat, divided into three wards, are reserved for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
