Rule. Rule returnable forthwith. With the consent of learned Counsel for the parties these petitions are heard finally at the stage of admission.

These petitions impugn the policy decision of the Government not to grant permission for opening of Marathi medium schools in Maharashtra. Our attention was invited by the learned Counsel for the petitioners to the judgment of the Division Bench of this Court in Writ Petition No.345 of 2010, Asha Sevabhavi Sanstha & anr. vs. State of Maharashtra & ors., dated 8.4.2010. The Division Bench by the aforesaid judgment had struck down the policy decision of the Government and had issued directions to the Government for deciding the proposal afresh in accordance with law.

Pursuant to the aforesaid directions, the learned A.G.P. appearing on behalf of the respondents states on instructions that the proposals of the petitioners in all these petitions would be examined afresh by the respondents, in accordance with law and in accordance with the directives issued by the Division Bench of this Court in Asha Sevabhavi Sanstha & anr. vs. State of Maharashtra & ors (supra), by end of May, 2010. We accept the aforesaid statement as an undertaking to the Court.

In the light of the aforesaid statement, therefore, these petitions are allowed and Rule is made absolute on the statement made by the learned A.G.P. In the circumstances there will be no order as to costs.
